P60 and P11D Preparation
What We Do

Year-End Forms Prepared and Filed Correctly

Every employer must issue P60 certificates to employees by 31 May and submit P11D forms to HMRC by 6 July for any taxable benefits in kind provided during the tax year. Class 1A National Insurance on those benefits is then due by 22 July. ABM Chartered Accountants manages the entire process.

Our ICAEW and ACCA qualified accountants review your benefits data, prepare each P11D form electronically, file the P11D(b) employer declaration, calculate your Class 1A NIC at the current 15 percent rate, and produce P60s for every employee. We also advise on the mandatory payrolling changes coming from April 2027.

Why It Matters

Deadlines Met, Penalties Avoided, Benefits Reported Right

Late P11D filing triggers automatic penalties of 100 pounds per 50 employees for each month the forms are overdue. Inaccurate submissions can attract penalties of up to 3,000 pounds per form. Late P60 distribution also carries sanctions. ABM Chartered Accountants prepares and files everything within the deadlines so these penalties never arise.

Accurate reporting also matters for your employees. Their tax codes and any additional tax liability on benefits depend on the figures you submit. Errors create confusion, incorrect tax bills, and time-consuming corrections. We make sure the data is right first time so your team and HMRC both receive accurate information.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to the P60 and P11D questions we hear most often. Contact our team for guidance.

What is a P60?

A P60 is a certificate showing an employee’s total pay and tax deductions for the tax year. Every employee on your payroll on 5 April must receive a P60 by 31 May. ABM Chartered Accountants produces and distributes them on your behalf.

A P11D is a form used to report taxable benefits in kind and expenses provided to employees and directors that have not been processed through payroll. Common benefits include company cars, private medical insurance, beneficial loans, and accommodation.

P11D and P11D(b) forms must be submitted electronically to HMRC by 6 July following the end of the tax year. Class 1A National Insurance contributions on the benefits are then due by 22 July if paying electronically, or 19 July by post.

HMRC charges an automatic penalty of 100 pounds per 50 employees for each month the P11D(b) is late. Individual P11D forms can attract penalties of up to 300 pounds each. ABM Chartered Accountants files everything on time so these charges never apply.

From April 2027, most taxable benefits must be reported and taxed through payroll in real time instead of on P11D forms at year end. Beneficial loans and accommodation are initially exempt. ABM Chartered Accountants advises on the transition and registers you with HMRC.

Fees depend on the number of employees and the volume of benefits to report. We offer transparent, fixed-fee pricing for year-end preparation with no hidden charges. Contact ABM Chartered Accountants for a quote tailored to your business.
